Flying pregnant? Or with babies and small children?
If you are an airline worker/ crew member or a passenger flying while pregnant or with your baby and/ or small children you should be aware of some facts.
We hope that you have read while browsing through our website that the so called 'Aerotoxic Syndrome’ is in fact an umbrella term for a poisoning by a collection of toxic fumes one can unbeknownst be exposed to while flying on aircraft (applies to any airline and any aircraft except the Boeing 787), and is an injury which can occur through these toxic compounds to the central nervous system and brain itself.
Obviously more harm can be done to children, babies and pregnant women since their systems are either still growing and/ or are more sensitive due to their condition. Babies don’t have fully developed immune systems until 1-4 years after birth – infants do not have fully developed (or even close to developed) immune systems until between 1-4 years of age, (depending on what research is being reviewed). Regardless, all research is firm that no fully active immune system is available inside an infant less than 1 year of age. The central nervous system and brain are the target organs these particular chemicals head for and are stored in, while continuing to cause harm. Some literature:
Example: the chemicals Chlorpyrifos and Naled are so called organophosphates; tricresyl phosphates/isomers and some other compounds which can be present as 'fugitive emissions' which enter the cabin breathing air from the 'bleed-air' leaks, - are also organophosphates ... and not to forget the toxic kerosene fumes and insectizide spraying when flying to certain countries. And make no mistake: residue of these toxic materials remain on the aircraft walls, the seats , the carpets ....
